New Indio Cast Iron Sink from Kohler
This press release from Kohler introduces a great new twist on a classic kitchen standard: the Indio cast iron sink.
Under-mount cast iron sinks have been around for a while. However because of their weight and somewhat dated conception have not been a favorite with many kitchen designers since granite, quartz and other stone (hard surface) products have come to dominate the market place.
Kohler first solved the weight problem with an innovative and inexpensive bracket system (K-5807) making installation of under-mount cast iron a breeze. I wouldn’t order a under-mount cast iron sink without ordering these brackets. Now Kohler has introduced the Indio sinks in single and double bowl configurations. These sinks also come standard with basin racks, a nice stainless steel colander and a beautiful wood cutting board tapered to sit on top of the sink snugly at a very reasonable price.
Although Kohler markets this sink as a contemporary design you should have no problem making it work in a traditional or even a retro design. The Sea Salt finish can work quite nicely in a retro style kitchen. Especially, if a homeowner wants to trade the look of a farm or apron front sink for the functionality of this winner.
If all that isn’t enough to excite you, Kohler also tells us it eco friendly too! Made from – 93% recycled & reclaimed material.
